Our Formation
The Association was formed in 2002 from a discussion group in western Victoria, at a time when rearing Holstein bull calves was very popular. This group recognised the need to develop further to become a central resource of industry development & networking for rearers and other interested parties. The aim was to provide a source of information for those wishing to enter the industry and support for those involved in it.
Our Aims
We aim to provide access to information, education and support to anyone who rears calves or has an interest in the industry, providing a network link and central resource for calf rearers around Australia . We achieve this through our annual conference, seminars and field days and this website.
The website offers an on site forum which you can access for networking opportunities, with further industry links and notices of our upcoming events.
We have held field days in places as diverse as Colac, Tongala, Warragul, Mount Gambier, Werribee and Bega. Our current membership is supported Australia wide. Our aim is to have one major conference along with seminars or field days in various districts on an annual basis. We find that these are a good opportunity for networking and picking up ideas. Anyone who knows of a calf related activity which would be of interest to other rearers is encouraged to contact us, so that we can organise a field day in the area.
